"The Brain Surgeon's Diet", Dr Adriaan Liebenberg
The Brain Surgeon's Diet has been authored by Dr W Adriaan Liebenberg, a renowned and multi-published South African neurosurgeon. In his book he shares his experience and expertise in weight-loss which is based on his personal achievement of shedding more than 70 kilograms of unwanted weight after two years. Having read about many diets which glamorously tell you that you will lose 10 kilograms in six weeks, Dr Liebenberg knew that this was not the answer in the long run.
Being a neurosurgeon, Dr Liebenberg looked deeper into the psyche and found that fat is a state of mind. He came across a formula which determines precisely what a person's daily kilojoule intake should be according to their gender, weight and height.
According to him, the Brain Surgeon's Diet is not about starving oneself. On the contrary, you actually eat a lot, but it is what you eat. His book also gives basic guidelines on buying products which one enjoys eating, but that have less kilojoules and fat.
